The Horse in 2027: the Fire Goat year, season by season

If 2026 was the Horse’s own year, 2027 is its partner year: 午 and 未 are a classic Six Harmony and share the summer season. The months still vary, and midwinter brings a clash. Check your sign by Ipchun and read the year season by season.

Horse birth years and the start of spring

In the Korean saju calendar the year starts at Ipchun, the start of spring (around 4 February), not on January 1 or at the lunar new year. Someone born under the Horse sign was born between one year’s Ipchun and the day before the next.

So someone born between January 1 and February 3, 1990 counts as the previous year’s Snake, while someone born between January 1 and February 3, 1991 still counts as Horse.

What tradition says about this sign and 未

午 is midsummer and noon, fire at its strongest. 午 and 未 are one of the six harmony pairs, and texts disagree on whether together they turn to fire or to earth, a sign of how long the pair has been discussed. Tradition reads 2027 as a year with a current that pulls the Horse along, and leaves where to steer it up to you.

2027 season by season

The saju year is split into twelve months by the solar terms. For each season of three months, the chips show the traditional relation between that month’s branch and this sign, followed by a few questions for the season. The names are symbols; they do not say what will happen.

SpringFebruary 4, 2027 – May 5, 2027

  • 壬寅 month (Tiger)Triangle of affinity (三合)
  • 癸卯 month (Rabbit)Break (破)
  • 甲辰 month (Dragon)No relation

寅 joins the Horse’s triangle, 卯 forms a Break and 辰 is neutral. Plan boldly in February but expect to rewrite in March, and in anything shared, say early how much time and money you can give.

SummerMay 6, 2027 – August 7, 2027

  • 乙巳 month (Snake)Same season (方合)
  • 丙午 month (Horse)Same branch
  • 丁未 month (Goat)Six Harmonies (六合)Same season (方合)

巳, 午 and 未 form the Horse’s own summer, and 未 repeats the year’s Six Harmony: the strongest stretch of the year. Don’t add commitments just because they feel good, keep midday plans short, and sleep on big purchases.

AutumnAugust 8, 2027 – November 7, 2027

  • 戊申 month (Monkey)No relation
  • 己酉 month (Rooster)No relation
  • 庚戌 month (Dog)Triangle of affinity (三合)

申 and 酉 are neutral and 戌 returns to the triangle. Polish what you started, send a note to the people you want to keep, and review insurance or pension choices you set and forgot.

WinterNovember 8, 2027 – February 3, 2028

  • 辛亥 month (Pig)No relation
  • 壬子 month (Rat)Clash (沖)
  • 癸丑 month (Ox)Harm (害)Resentment (怨嗔)

子 clashes head-on with 午, and 丑 brings Resentment and Harm. Drop one commitment in December, and in disagreements say that you are tired before arguing the point.

The Horse in 2027, by age

The same sign meets a different year at 15, 40 or 70. These short notes suggest what is worth looking after at each age, from school and first jobs to check-ups and life after work.

Born 1954 · 73 in 2027
Grandchildren and family events can still take a lot of energy; it is fine to say “not this week,” and a quick check of thresholds and bath mats at home is time well spent.
Born 1966 · 61 in 2027
Newly retired or looking for work again: hold off on big-money decisions for a few months and build a daily routine first.
Born 1978 · 49 in 2027
Track sleep, blood pressure and weight, ask for help with menopause or andropause symptoms, and plan one weekend outing with your teenager that has nothing to do with exams.
Born 1990 · 37 in 2027
In the late thirties, write down one thing to wrap up and one to learn in 2027, and if you share a home, renegotiate chores and money.
Born 2002 · 25 in 2027
Starting out: save a fixed share of each pay packet before spending, and give a job three documented months before deciding it is wrong for you.
Born 2014 · 13 in 2027
Starting secondary school for many: a month of simply settling in counts as doing well, and agreeing phone and curfew times in writing heads off arguments.

Questions about the Horse in 2027

Born in January 1990: am I a Horse?

Ipchun was on February 4 in 1990, so births from January 1 to February 3 count as the previous year’s Snake. From February 4 you are a 庚午 Horse, and so is anyone born in January 1991 before that year’s Ipchun.

Are the Horse and the Goat really a good match?

Because 午 and 未 form a Six Harmony, tradition counts them as a good pair. Real compatibility depends far more on how two people talk and live together; enjoy the story and judge the relationship by the time you spend together.

Is the Horse in samjae in 2027?

No. The 寅午戌 group meets samjae in 申, 酉 and 戌 years, so by the traditional count the Horse’s next run is 2028 to 2030, and as a folk belief it is nothing to worry about in advance.
