The Pig in 2027: the Fire Goat year, season by season
The Pig’s 2027 carries a triangle and samjae together: 亥 shares the 亥卯未 group with the year’s 未, and the group leaves samjae this year. Both are symbols; here they are season by season and age by age.

Pig birth years and the start of spring
In the Korean saju calendar the year starts at Ipchun, the start of spring (around 4 February), not on January 1 or at the lunar new year. Someone born under the Pig sign was born between one year’s Ipchun and the day before the next.
So someone born between January 1 and February 3, 1995 counts as the previous year’s Dog, while someone born between January 1 and February 3, 1996 still counts as Pig.
| Born in | Pillar | Ipchun that year | Sign ends on | Age in 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1935 | 乙亥 | February 5 | February 4, 1936 | 92 |
| 1947 | 丁亥 | February 5 | February 4, 1948 | 80 |
| 1959 | 己亥 | February 4 | February 4, 1960 | 68 |
| 1971 | 辛亥 | February 4 | February 4, 1972 | 56 |
| 1983 | 癸亥 | February 4 | February 4, 1984 | 44 |
| 1995 | 乙亥 | February 4 | February 3, 1996 | 32 |
| 2007 | 丁亥 | February 4 | February 3, 2008 | 20 |
| 2019 | 己亥 | February 4 | February 3, 2020 | 8 |
Born on Ipchun day itself? The sign then depends on whether you were born before or after the exact time of Ipchun. Ages are after your 2027 birthday.
What tradition says about this sign and 未
亥 is early winter and the late evening, wide water like the sea. In the wood triangle 亥卯未, 亥 is where the seed first sprouts and 未 is where the grown tree is gathered, so tradition pictures the Pig’s 2027 as something it started coming full circle. Pigs have long stood for plenty in Korea, from lucky pig dreams to the pig’s head at ceremonies: a wish, not a promise of money.
2027 season by season
The saju year is split into twelve months by the solar terms. For each season of three months, the chips show the traditional relation between that month’s branch and this sign, followed by a few questions for the season. The names are symbols; they do not say what will happen.
SpringFebruary 4, 2027 – May 5, 2027
- 壬寅 month (Tiger)Six Harmonies (六合)Break (破)
- 癸卯 month (Rabbit)Triangle of affinity (三合)
- 甲辰 month (Dragon)Resentment (怨嗔)
寅 is a Six Harmony with a Break, 卯 the triangle and 辰 Resentment. When new people or projects excite you, say out loud what each side expects, and keep one evening a week free.
SummerMay 6, 2027 – August 7, 2027
- 乙巳 month (Snake)Clash (沖)
- 丙午 month (Horse)No relation
- 丁未 month (Goat)Triangle of affinity (三合)
巳 clashes head-on, 午 is neutral and 未 returns to the triangle. If May brings changes, gather one more piece of information before deciding, and keep a steady bedtime all summer.
AutumnAugust 8, 2027 – November 7, 2027
- 戊申 month (Monkey)Harm (害)
- 己酉 month (Rooster)No relation
- 庚戌 month (Dog)No relation
申 brings Harm; 酉 and 戌 are quiet. Redraw the shares in joint work, and in samjae’s last autumn, finish the papers, things and calls you have put off.
WinterNovember 8, 2027 – February 3, 2028
- 辛亥 month (Pig)Same branch
- 壬子 month (Rat)Same season (方合)
- 癸丑 month (Ox)Same season (方合)
亥, 子 and 丑 are the Pig’s own winter. Set December’s budget and rest days in November, and write down ten good things from the year.
The Pig in 2027, by age
The same sign meets a different year at 15, 40 or 70. These short notes suggest what is worth looking after at each age, from school and first jobs to check-ups and life after work.
- Born 1959 · 68 in 2027
- With time to fill, one commitment where someone expects you, such as volunteering or a local group, does a lot; and always check with family before sending money to an “urgent” caller.
- Born 1971 · 56 in 2027
- Talk of early retirement may start at work; try something you would like to do afterwards on a small scale, and look at your sleep habits if you often wake at night.
- Born 1983 · 44 in 2027
- Managing at work while bridging children and parents at home: keep a weekly “how am I, really” talk with a partner or friend, and compare school costs with your own savings.
- Born 1995 · 32 in 2027
- Settling into work while love, marriage or moving out come up: keep one weekend day for recovery, and check property records yourself before any housing contract.
- Born 2007 · 20 in 2027
- Second year of university for many, others working or trying exams again: keep at least your wake-up time steady, and remember you can always say no at parties.
Samjae in 2027
The Pig is in its leaving year, the last of its samjae run (2025–2027).
For the Pig, samjae entered in 2025, stayed in 2026 and ends in 2027. If the past two years felt hectic, tradition reads this one as the time things settle; if they passed quietly, that too shows samjae does not bring the same thing to everyone of a sign.
Anyone selling talismans or an expensive ritual to “clear the last of samjae” can be refused. Saying no costs you nothing. If you want to mark the end, call the people who helped you through these three years, or start a notebook about the year.
Questions about the Pig in 2027
What should the Pig do in its last samjae year?
Use it to finish what you started and never completed over the past few years. Booking a check-up and sorting contracts and insurance are enough; no paid ritual is needed.
Born on February 3, 1995: Pig or Dog?
Ipchun was on February 4 in 1995, so February 3 counts as the previous year’s Dog; from February 4 you are a 乙亥 Pig.
Why are the Pig, the Rabbit and the Goat grouped together?
亥, 卯 and 未 form the wood triangle. Tradition sees members of one triangle as supporting each other and counts samjae by group, so all three leave samjae in 2027, and the Pig and the Rabbit also share a triangle with the year’s 未.
